Dr. Moses Ntam, Associate Professor of Physics at Tuskegee University

Biography

Dr. Moses Ntam holds a Ph.D. in Computational Physics and a Master of Science in Physics from Auburn University, where his research focused on the thermal conductivity of Earth minerals under extreme pressures and temperatures. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in physics from the University of Buea, Cameroon.

As Associate Professor of Physics at Tuskegee University since May 2024, Dr. Ntam currently serves as the interim Executive Director of the Office of Distance Education and Online Learning. He has led initiatives such as transitioning the university's learning management system to Canvas and developing faculty training programs for online teaching.

Dr. Ntam's extensive contributions to online and hybrid education have significantly enhanced the quality and effectiveness of digital learning environments at Tuskegee, especially in response to the challenges of COVID-19. He has secured substantial funding (over $2 million) from prestigious organizations including the National Science Foundation (NSF) and NASA, supporting initiatives aimed at broadening participation in STEM.

As a certified Quality Matters Coordinator and Online Teaching Certification Trainer, Dr. Ntam has reviewed over 100 courses for quality and accessibility, mentored faculty in digital pedagogy, and designed innovative online courses. His textbook "Elementary General Physics I: Algebra-Based College Physics I" has been recognized for simplifying complex physics concepts.

Beyond academia, Dr. Ntam is deeply committed to community service and cultural advocacy. He founded the African Students Association at Auburn University to provide a platform for cultural expression and support for African students.
